Getting There

The main international port of entry for Anguilla is either St. Maarten or San Juan, Puerto Rico, but several local airlines also fly in from St. Kitts, Tortola, St. Thomas St Barth and Antigua. Our neighboring sister Island St. Maarten is only a few miles away from Anguilla and can be reached by ferry (20 minutes) or by small plane (5 minutes). 

From Europe there are direct flights with Air France (daily) and Corsair (via Paris)KLM (via Amsterdam and others to St. Martin or you can fly Iberia to San Juan, Virgin to St. Kitts/Antigua and British Airways to Antigua.

From the US, most major airlines (including budget airlines like Spirit and Jetblue) fly into St. Maarten (SXM) or San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU). There are direct flights into St. Maarten from cities like New York, Atlanta, Baltimore and Charlotte.  If you fly into Puerto Rico you can connect with American Eagle which has several direct flights a day from San Juan to Anguilla (60 minutes). If you fly into St. Maarten, there are several easy ways to get to Anguilla (see details below). Often flights to St. Maarten are cheaper than the ones direct to Anguilla via San Juan). Best you check out all options. Often there are also sales on the websites of the airlines. A little advice for your transit from St. Maarten to Anguilla

During your flight to St. Maarten an immigration form will be handed over to you to fill in your personal data and passport information. After your arrival in St. Maarten go straight to immigration and show passport and immigration-form. Please make sure, that you have written "transit" where the form asked for hotel address. After passing, you enter the main hall where the baggage reclaim is located.

Transit by plane (with Trans Anguilla Airways - reservation necessary)

Immediately after passing immigration, there is a Trans Anguilla counter where they expect you already. Their staff will assist you to collect your luggage and will bring you you to the air taxi. Costs of flight is US$ 85.00 per person (minimum of 4 persons). Children up to 5 years pay half price, until 2 years 10%. If there are not 4 booked passengers, the flight will be charged as a charter flight at a rate of US$ 385.00 plus US$ 10.00 per person security tax. After 5pm there will be a night surcharge of US$ 275.00 per plane.

The flight will be approximately 5 minutes. After your arrival in Anguilla, you will enter the main hall where you hand over your immigration form and collect your luggage. Now you have to pass through customs, be patient, Anguillian Customs Officers can be very serious and take their time. Welcome to Anguilla! Taxi's are waiting for you in front of the building to take you to our hotel (US$ 20.00 to US$ 30.00 for 2 persons).

Flights with Trans Anguilla can be booked in advance through this website. We can also keep track if other persons are booked on the same flight (in case you are not already a party of four). 

Transit by ferry

After you pass through immigration in St.Maarten, collect your luggage. A taxi will carry you to the ferry at Marigot (US$ 15.00 to US$ 20.00). The ferry schedule is every half an hour or 40 minutes until 6:00pm and please keep in mind that the last regular ferry leaves Marigot at 7.00pm.

As soon as you reach the ferry write down your name and passport number on the ferry-list (2nd counter). At the first counter you will have to pay a departure-tax of Euro 3.00 or US$ 5.00 per person. The passage will be approximately 20-30 minutes and the costs will be US$ 15.00 per person except the 7.00pm trip which costs US$ 18.00 (payable on board). After your arrival please go to immigration and hand over your form. Now you have to pass customs, be patient, Anguillian Customs Officers are friendly but can take their time. Welcome to Anguilla! Taxi's are waiting for you in front of the building to take you to your hotel (ca. US$ 15.00 to US$25.00 for 2 persons).

Transit by speedboat from the Airport (reservations necessary)

After you pass through immigration in St.Maarten, collect your luggage. In the arrival hall, you will be picked up by a representative of the speedboat company. They will assist you to the boat (approx. 5 minutes walk). From there, the boat will take you straight to Blowing Point, Anguilla (same arrival procedures like ferry). The cost of a private charter is approx. US$ 360.00 one way or a shared charter at approx. US$ 75.00 per person. The speedboat can be booked through this website.

Departure Tax

When you are leaving our Island, there is a departure Tax of US$ 20.00 for departing at the airport or ferry. No charge for children under 12. If you visit St. Martin on a daytrip, the tax will be only US$ 5.00 (plus US$ 3.00 to return from Marigot).
